ERIC YBAÑEZ RETURNS WITH ‘BECAUSE OF LOVE’
A POWERFUL SOLO DEBUT FUSING BALLADS, MELODIC METAL, AND CLASSIC ROCK ENERGY | COMING 2025

Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Eric Ybañez reignites his passion with Because Of Love—a heartfelt solo album packed with soaring power ballads, anthemic love songs, and arena-ready hard rock riffs. After a 30-year hiatus, Ybañez delivers a genre-spanning comeback rooted in album-oriented rock, melodic metal, and shred guitar-driven storytelling.
Born in Cebu City, Philippines, and raised in Brisbane, Australia, Eric emerged in the late ’80s and early ’90s fronting hard rock bands like Sacred Rock, sharing stages with icons like Tommy Emmanuel, and releasing cult-favorite EPs Listen and Rags to Riches. Now, with his roots in heavy metal and AOR, he returns with new depth, fusing emotional rock ballads with classic rock hooks and modern production.
A Journey of Redemption and Reignited Purpose

Because Of Love is a deeply personal record—a love letter to the golden era of rock and a spiritual reflection on love, sacrifice, and second chances. With influences ranging from Bon Jovi, Dokken, and Van Halen, to Stryper, Def Leppard, and Queen, the album blends pop-metal sheen, powerful vocals, and virtuosic guitar solos with timeless lyrical themes that resonate across generations.“This is more than just an album,” says Ybañez. “It’s my story—told through melody, passion, and a belief that it’s never too late to follow your calling.”
Fans of melodic hard rock, power metal ballads, emotive love songs, and shred guitar anthems will find a lot to love in this debut. Whether you’re a lifelong rocker or a new listener discovering the magic of classic-inspired rock, Because Of Love promises an unforgettable musical journey. The album will be released worldwide on all major streaming platforms in 2025. If you’re searching for melodic rock, power ballads, love songs that hit the heart, or guitar-driven rock anthems, Eric Ybañez’s Because Of Love is a must-listen.
